Principal's Message

Dear Miami School Families,

My name is Scott Ahonen, and I am absolutely thrilled to return as your Principal at the Miami School.

After spending the past few years serving as an Assistant Principal at Wilson Middle School, coming back to the Miami School feels like coming home. Having been here from the very beginning when we first started this program, I hold this school in a deeply personal place in my heart. The Miami School is a unique and powerful community, and there is truly no place I would rather be.

These high school years represent a pivotal chapter in our students' lives—a time when they take major steps forward in their academic paths and personal growth. Our mission remains steadfast: to ensure that every single student is supported, challenged, and fully equipped with the skills they need for success both now and in the years that follow graduation.

We believe deeply in the power of connections—between students and staff, school and family, and learning and life. Alongside our dedicated instructional team, I am committed to maintaining a culture rooted in belonging and high expectations, ensuring that every student feels seen, valued, and prepared to thrive.

I look forward to partnering with you once again to make this school year one of incredible growth, discovery, and momentum. Together, let’s empower our students to rise to the challenges ahead and celebrate their accomplishments along the way.

It is wonderful to be back. Here’s to an incredible school year ahead!

Warmly,

Scott Ahonen
